One Way To Rock - Yamaha AES620
THERE'S ONLY ONE WAY TO ROCK!
How do you design an original classic? Take a look at our AES solid-body lineup; with their uniquely carved tops, trademark tone-enhancing tailpiece design, upgraded bridges, and brawny "C" profile necks, our new AES guitars have become the instruments of choice for today's generation of forward-thinking guitarists. The huge sonic capabilities of the AES solid-body guitars virtually define the radically changing landscape of modern rock guitar.
The flagship handcrafted AES920 features a thick, book-matched solid top of stunning quilted maple on an African mahogany back, a rosewood fingerboard on an African mahogany neck with abalone fret markers and a pair of Seymour Duncan '59 pickups. The award-winning AES620 features a quilted maple top on a Mahogany back, a mahogany/maple neck with abalone fret markers, and a Duncan JB bridge pickup matched to a custom Alnico neck pickup.
Highlights of both guitars include beefy vintage-contour neck shapes and separate pickup volumes plus a master tone control. The through-body stringing coupled with Yamaha's signature tailpiece design insures proper string angle and tension across the custom bridge, a trademark of the AES series. The Red Rocker has enjoyed a charismatic life on the top for more than 30 years. From his days with Montrose to a hugely successful solo career to nearly two decades of Van Halen. Among it all, Sammy has also found the time to establish Cabo Wabo – the #2 premium tequila in the world and a group of successful nightclubs of the same name.
With the help of Yamaha's custom shop in Hollywood, CA, Sammy has created his signature guitar based on the award-winning AES620 mixed in with a bit of the Red Rocker's own touches. The AES620 SH features a mahogany body with a figured maple veneer top powered by two humbucking pickups including a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge. The set-in mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard are enhanced with the world-famous Cabo Wabo logo inlaid at the 12th fret. The custom red color is based on the Red Rocker's favorite translucent red finish. Source: Yamaha
